Shipping policy

How orders ship
Houndfield equipment ships directly from the manufacturer or its warehouse. Each product page says whether an item ships by freight (truck, usually on a pallet or in crates) or parcel (UPS/FedEx-type carriers).
Freight costs and your total
Freight cost depends on the destination ZIP, the delivery type (commercial or residential), and whether a liftgate is needed.
[TODO: Choose one method and delete the other before publishing]
- Option A (quote-confirm): At checkout, freight shows as "quoted by ZIP." We authorize your card, confirm the delivered total with you by email or phone, and only charge it after you approve. If you don't approve, we cancel the authorization and you owe nothing.
- Option B (included): Freight to the contiguous U.S. is included in the product price. Remote or limited-access locations may need a surcharge, and we'll tell you before shipping.
ACH, check and PO orders ship after payment clears.
Lead times
Many commercial dog park components are made to order (cut, welded, powder-coated). Lead times vary by manufacturer and color. The lead time on your quote or product page is the manufacturer's estimate, not a guarantee. [TODO: typical range per supplier, in writing.]
Where we ship
Contiguous United States. Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and international orders are quote-only. We can't deliver freight to PO boxes.
Delivery day
- The carrier will call to schedule. Someone must be on site to receive it.
- Freight is delivered curbside or to a dock. It isn't carried inside or placed in position. Plan for people or equipment to move it (some pieces are heavy; weights are on the spec sheet).
- If there's no dock or forklift, ask for liftgate delivery when you order.
Inspect before you sign
- Count the pieces against the bill of lading.
- Check for visible damage: crushed crates, torn wrap, bent parts.
- Write any damage on the delivery receipt ("damaged: crate 2 crushed") before signing, and photograph it.
- Email photos to quotes@houndfield.com within [TODO: supplier window, e.g. 48 hours].
Signing "clean" can make carrier claims much harder. We'll handle the claim with the manufacturer and carrier once we have your photos.
Redelivery and storage
Missed deliveries, refused shipments, or address changes can incur carrier redelivery or storage fees. These are passed through at cost. [TODO: supplier's fee schedule.]
Installation
Shipping doesn't include installation. We can refer local installers, and you contract with them directly. Dog wash stations and fountains need a licensed plumber (and electrician where applicable).
